Jack co-founded New Genre with Mihai in 2022, after teaming up together as freelancers revealed a shared passion for the bold, brave, and hypernew.
From a background in the world of development agencies where design was often seen as a secondary afterthought, he saw with Mihai an opportunity to unite both disciplines under one roof — building an agency that delivers what he calls a six-star experience by creating great design work enabled by technical excellence.
A native of Coventry, Jack studied alongside Mihai, with his early career taking him from game design to development, where he honed his technical expertise and his commitment to high standards. His measure of excellence remains a standard for New Genre — one of enthusiasm and self-initiation encouraged of everybody who walks into the studio.
In building a world-class development team, Jack looks for people who would be doing great work regardless of the brief — for whom design and development are not just a career, but elevate it to a calling. And in the same way, is proud that New Genre doesn’t just build websites, but creates digital systems; custom tools that solve real business problems, uncover hidden inefficiencies, and leave clients with something that fixes problems they don’t know they had.
A champion for accessibility, a focus for Jack is that everything we build is not only technically excellent but also inclusive. He takes particular pride in his ability to architect systems with clarity, purpose, and logic — ensuring every solution earns its deserved six stars.
Outside the studio (though rarely away from next.js), Jack loves long walks and the odd horror film. In fact, while at university, he hosted a “Bad Movie Night” where the ritual was self-explanatory — teaching him what filmmaking and project work shares: whether masterpiece or misfire, they only come to life when every person plays their part.
